Transparent methodology

How this quote is built.

This tool does not multiply followers by a secret number. It builds the quote from values you can inspect and change. Methodology reviewed 16 September 2026.

1 · Production

The work required to make it.

Use your normal base content rate, or calculate time × your hourly rate plus direct costs such as props, travel, studio, or talent.

2 · Distribution

The audience the brand reaches.

For creator-posted work, use typical performance from comparable posts. For brand-use UGC, reach may be irrelevant and is not added automatically.

3 · Deal extras

What the brand may do with it.

Price licensing, paid ads, exclusivity, rush work, extra revisions, and other agreed costs explicitly. Unconfirmed terms remain visible instead of becoming free by accident.

Views versus followers

Use the metric the deliverable actually earns.

Reels: typical views across recent comparable Reels.

Stories: average views per frame, with the frame count stated.

Carousels: typical reach per carousel.

Brand-use UGC: production and licensing; your own audience may not be part of the purchase.

Why the helper shows median and average

One viral post can pull an average far above normal performance. The median—the middle result after sorting—often gives a calmer picture of typical views. Keep the sample comparable and exclude paid boosts where possible.

Follower count can still provide context, but the calculator does not treat it as the price.

Common pricing questions

Before you send the number.

How much should I charge for an Instagram Reel?
Start with the production work and, when the Reel is posted to your account, the audience distribution you expect. Then price usage rights, paid advertising, exclusivity, rush delivery, and revisions separately instead of silently including them.
Should I price a brand deal from followers or views?
For creator-posted content, recent performance from comparable content is usually more useful than follower count alone. Use typical Reel views, Story views per frame, or carousel reach. UGC made for a brand account should be driven mainly by production and licensing rather than your follower count.
Does this calculator use an industry-standard influencer rate?
No. There is no single defensible rate for every creator, market, niche, platform, or set of rights. The calculator uses rates and costs you provide and explains each part of the result rather than presenting a guessed benchmark as fact.
Why are usage rights and paid ads separate?
An organic sponsored post and a licensed advertising asset are different purchases. Confirm where the brand may use the content, for how long, in which markets, whether it may run paid ads, and whether it needs access to your identity or account for whitelisting.
